AVI to DVD/SVCD?

Okay, I've searched the forums and can't find an obvious answer, so here goes. I've downloaded some TV shows in .AVI format and I'd like to burn them to either DVD or VCD in good quality.

I've tried burning using standard Nero but the quality quite frankly sucks. Am I missing something obvious?

Welcome to the forum. You might try the free program below as it will convert the .AVI files to mpeg-2 DVD Compliant files. After conversion you can use either Nero or Shrink to compress and Nero to burn

Thanks for the reply! Is there a way to burn multiple VOBs to the same DVD? I've got some movies that are only 50MB or less and I'd hate to waste a DVD for movie.

After you have converted the files you can use Nero NVE to make your own movie and have your own Menu. If you do not have Nero you can d/l it and it is good through the end of the month. Then D/L clean tools from Nero site clean what is left after you uninstall Nero at the end of the month and then re-install Nero again

Is NVE Nero Express? If so I do have it. In fact I looked at but couldn't see an obvious way to add multiple VOBs and create menus. I also have Nero Burning ROM FWIW.
