Tried to burn dual layer dvd with dvd decrypter. Got iso image on hard drive no probs but when started to write to disc an error came up about a i/o ASPI problem with the drive. I clicked cancel and the image started to write to disc but at the end the disc was not recognised in any DVD player or even my DVD Writer. I am using a LG Super Multi GSA 4120b. I have updated the firm ware for the drive and even tried with DVD Shrink to no avail although a different error appeared that time, something to do with Disc at once or something. Have got three expensive coasters so far, can any one please shed some light on this problem as I am lost. Thanking you all in advance

First, try and burn the movie to a DVD RW disc. you will have to use Shrink Nero Recode2 etc to compress it after Decrypting. This is to find out if your burner is causing problems.

Generally, I/O errors are caused by the media according to Lighting_UK.

You should copy/paste the Decrypter log into your post so we can see the specific error message.

What brand of media are you using? According to a review at CDRinfo the performance was bad with Ritek DL, superb with Verbatim DL.

Thanks for your reply fasfrank, I tried Ricoh DVD + R DL and also Imation DVD+R DL and both failed. I have burnt plenty of single layer 4.7G discs with no problems at all. When next I try and burn a DL disc if I get an error again I will copy/paste the log. I will try and burn to a DVD RW disc to test the the burner . Have also been told that IN CD package writer can cause errors but if that is so would I not get an error burning 4.7G discs as well?

InCD can conflict and normally you would also get errors with the single layer discs. Nero's newer version is not supposed to conflict.
Nero has a InCD CleanTool for removing old InCD entries from previous versions.

I would try the Verbatim D/L media. That seemed to work best with your burner according to the cdr.info review.

Before doing the actual burn, try a test burn to a location on your HDD. That should confirm that Decrypter is working correctly.

Just finished burning my first successful D/L disc. I'm happy now that it works, after burning 3 coasters first. I just updated the ASPI layers and used Verbatim D/L discs. Left InCD running and had no problems at all. Thanks to fasfrank for all your help and afterdawns threads where I got a lot of information from.

Cheers all
