hi ya peeps

been burning dvds for a while now using shrink and the decryter to burn to disc!

But it really pisses me when shrink wont back up a dvd because of a few small marks on the disc and i get the cyclic error box pop up.

is there another way around of backing up and then burning, i tried ripping with decryter but could not get all the backed up files to burn to disc.

can some one help out or point me in the right direction.

Nu330ci ,
You might try cleaning the DVD real well and then use DVDDecrypter and you might also tell DVDDecrypter to ignore the read errors. A DVD player is really forgiving but a computer reading the disk is not forgiving so you really might have to get another copy of the DVD( one that is not scratched) for you to be able to record it

cheers for the help buddy :)

ive tried both things, cleaned the disc and told decryter to ignore the error reading, but i got to around 67% on decryter and it just got stuck and did for about an hour.

is there any other software that will allow me to rip these dvds??

i cant get hold of any new ones as these are quite hard to find,its really doing my head in as the disc are in great cond bar a few tiny marks :(

It is those "Tiny Marks" that are causing you problems. You can try the 21 day free trail of AnyDVD and use Shrink in conjunction but I do not think that will help either.
Some People use toothpaste ( very gently) to try and get the scratches out . I have never tried it but you might give it a shot

I take my scratched discs back amnd tell the folks I got them from and exchange them. If it is a older disc from my collection then I just try to clean it.

There are some disc rescue programs and disc restoring kits available. I have not used them though.
