I think I need a firmware update for Philips DVD8421.
Dvd Decrypter will mode>iso>write to dvd+r disks, but not with dvd-r disks. Do I need and upgrade? What should I do?
Help would be greatly appreciated.

you will have to open DVD Decrypter, right click the Phillips drive, look at the DVDD drop down menu and follow it to the bottom of the choices and click on the firmware upgrade link. If DVDD finds an upgrade for you, use it.
