Well I have been reading from other people about how http://www.anydvd.com, is
better than the free http://www.dvd43.com, so I bought it and clonedvd2.
for $59.00, and both are good[but when it came to Queer as folk DVDS
the free DVD43 decoded a great rip compared to a ok copy with anydvd]
is this common with dvds full of bad sectors?Things that make you go hum.

I have nothing against "Any Dvd" regardless if it's good or bad probably due to the fact that I've never used it before. I preffer DVD43 and DVD Decrypter [YES....they're both FREE and works beautifully to bypass protection codes], however, everyone is entitled to their own judgement, so use whatever that's doing the job for you. On the other hand, DVDIdle Pro and DVDRegion Free+CSS are also another 2 great programs that's known for cracking new protection codes while running in the background - yes, it will bypass the new Sony ARccOsS.

All AnyDVD does is fool your burner into thinking the DVD you want to copy is not copy protected. It either shows as not copy protected or copy protected. Since you could rip it, AnyDVD did it's job, so if you have a problem with your burned disks, it's not AnyDVD, but something else like multi-tasking, your burner, your burners software, or your media.

I agree with ScubaBud completely. If you could rip it, AnyDVD is doing its job.

For a poor video quality on backups, you should be blaming the compressing program. I have noticed that HBO episode DVDs are poor quality to begin with, so when you throw in compression to 60 or 70% (sometimes even lower), the outcome is pretty bad.

loveya,

I'm not sure where you'd downloaded your DVD43 from, but I got mine from it's own site at DVD43.com - it has been running and cracking up new protection codes flawlessly for me in the past 4 months without any issues. Perhaps, it doesn't like (not compatible with) one of your software/program in your computer. Try to unstall it, search for every DVD43 file/stuff in your "registry," delete everything, then re-install it, and see what's up. The choice is yours..!!! Like I've said before, I've used DVD Decrypter, DVD43, DVDIdle Pro and they're all working flawlessly. With that being said; I can't comment on AnyDVD due to the fact that I've never used it before, but I'm strongly deem that it's a great program to crack protection codes nowaday. However, I prefer DVD Decrypter and DVD43 simply because they're FREE that's all.

Here's a good method of backing up using DVD43: simply put the original dvd into dvd-rom drive, open up any of your player, i.e. Nero ShowTime, Windows Media, WinDVD, PowerDVD, etc. and let it plays for atleast "35 seconds -> 1 or 2 minutes." By doing this, DVD43 will detects any code protection and it will remove it -- meaning you should see a "red angry devil face" then eventually it will turn into a "green smiley face," if you see this, now you can open up "SHRINK" or "DVD Decrypter" and do your normal back up procedures. If for some reason, DVD43 "did not run" in the background right after you've inserted the original dvd into your dvd-rom, then go to START, PROGRAM, and click on the GREEN FACE in DVD43 - this should run now. In addition, for whatever reason DVD43 detects, but fail to show you a "green smiley face," simply "restart" your computer and follow the above steps untill it detects then back up with "SHRINK" or "Decrypter" again.

Note: DVD43 will run in the background to crack/by pass protection codes only, it will not rip or burn dvds - you have to use your prefer burning program i.e. Shrink, InterVideo, Decrypter, Nero, 1Click, Dvd Cloner, Clone Dvd, Dvd Fab, X Copy, etc. with this in order to work smoothly. If you have more than 2 cracking programs running at the same time such as DVD43, AnyDVD, DvdRegion Free+CSS, DVDIdle Pro, etc. while you're performing a back up, then this will likely to cause a "conflict" to your computer causing it to freeze for the majority of times and you'll have to reboot your computer again. It is obvious that they don't like each others. To get away with this issue, simply disable one or the either and make sure you have just one program running only.
