My system reboots at about 20% of the backup process with both dvdXcopy and dvd shrink. and when my system comes back up it sais that it has recovered from a serious error.

Anyone know what may be causing this and how to solve it?
it seems to have accured all of a sudden. I don't know what caused it.

Thanks for your help

Video encoding and compression is about the most CPU intensive thing that your computer will ever do. It will definitely find any problems with your CPU cooling. That would be the place to start. Make sure all your fans are working properly, especially your CPU fan. Make sure there is not a build up of dust in you CPU Heat Sink. Make sure that you have good air flow through your computer.

I had trouble at first with DVD Shrink shutting off my pc. Adding the extra fans on the back and a blower in the slot helped out considerably. The same thing started again after a powersurge in january, and a new mobo took care of that.

Both occasions I had that exact same message.

Try cleaning out your pc and add the extra fans/blowers. Also run a registry cleaner. I use registry mechanic 4.0.

Now I get the occasional blue screen of death on the analyzing of DVD Shrink, using it's max smoothness enhancement. I may have to re-format pretty soon, ugh! My pc is a piece of crap, LOL
