I have backed up many movies successfully BUT recently I am having problems getting the menue to back up properly. The play option will work but the set up option will not. Can't get option to set up audio and subtitles etc.

I am useing Ritek and Prodisc -R media which I have been useing forever so I don't think this is the problem.

Here is the funny thing. Nero Recode 2 will not back up the menu,
Win Copy DVD3 will not back up the menu, Pennicle Instant Copy 8 will not back up the menue BUT DVD Shrink will do it perfectly.

I am useing the latest versions of all this software as well as ANYDVD in the background.

Would someone know why these other software will not do the job when DVD Shrink will.

I have noticed that DVD Shrink burns at 2X and not 2.4x. Infact it cuts the burn speed down. Could this be the problem.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks
Tom

Where's BigO when we need him? I have some of those programs and suspect it's not the software. They work for me and many others. Sounds like something on your system is affecting the programs. Has anything been changed that could be causing the effect?

Don't know where BigO is. Vacationing I guess. I have not posted this on DVDRip Forum.

As far as anything new in the burning department, I have not added anything.

I just got finished backing up Darkness with DVD Shrink and it worked fine. I have not tried this movie with any of the other backup programs I have but I will try it useing Nero Recode 2 just to see if it will back up the menue properly.

I will post the results.

Honestly, I don't know what has happend. Looks like if DVD Shrink will work then Recode should since it is almost identical.

Anyone else having this problem?

BigO still lurks around AD at times. ;) He's quite knowledgable on the Nero apps. I'm curious as to what you eventually find. Sounds like interference of some sort or possibly the programs have become corrupted. Have you tried deleting one of the offending programs and reinstalling to see how it works?

Yes, I deleted Nero Ultra and bought the latest version and reinstalled it with the new number etc. It still is acting up.

I advised that I would try to backup Darkness with Nero Recode 2. Well I did and it backs up fine BUT maybe on the next movie etc the menu will not work.

This has got me confused as to what the problem might be. Guess I will just have to wait it out.

At least I can fall back on my old standby Shrink. Shrink just takes longer than DVD Copy 3.

I think I will post it on BigO's forum and see if he has any clue.

Good luck with it. Hope someone comes along that's solved a similar problem. I've never had that one.
