1. When games are played from the HD, are online capabilities lost?

2. HOw are games saved to the HD, from HD loader i choose 'load' for example, then the PS2 reads teh DVD like DVD decrypter does and saves it?

3. Can i load backed up DVDs to teh hard drive (not original)

1. Yes when games that use DNAS(all new games)are put on the hd they loose online capabilities.
2.Yes it just reads the disc and stores the informations on the hd
3. with hdadvance using the slide card you can store backups or with any other modchip but i think you can with hdloader as well
also yes it formats the hd into the format it needs to work.

also i have one PAL game, GT4, if i put it on the HD, do i have a choice to convert it to NTSC, or thyre some prog that lets me patch GT4 to NTSC before putting it on HD (toolboys guide)

yeah unfortunatly basicly all games have DNAS witch makes them not go online thats why people have to patch their backups to work online but so far there is not way to patch them from hd.Nope theres no PAL-NTSC convertion.Im not sure how 2 disc games work as you cannot return to the hdloader menu. Also if you are going to put GT4 on hd I think you might need a patch.
