I'm having problems using dvd copy 3.

When it asks for source I try to put my D:/ drive which is my dvd- rom
It does not see the movie . I've tried several different movies and it doesn't see them.

Funny thing I just downloaded DVD43 and all of a sudden this started happening.

Yesterday when I tried using copy 3 it saw the movie but, couldn't copy it because it was protected. So I'm trying to find a free program that will break the protection code and work with copy 3 .

I'm trying to use the trial version of DVD Copy 3.

dabig25,
Try ripping the dvd with DVD Decrypter and then load that file into DVDCopy3 as the sorce. You'll have to click on the little folder and mag. glass on the right side then locate your folder.

Yep... just like Mort said; you should be able to browse the Target and Source via the Camera like and mag. glass. It should be simple.

By the way, how do you experts in here post a "printscreen" picture anyways?

Glad to see ya got DVDCopy3 up n runnin. I think you will be impressed with the vidio quality as well. Note: DVDCopy3 burns at max speed as determined by what your media and burner are rated at. If you want to slow the burn to 4x or slower, make an empty folder on your hdd and then select it as the target then burn the folder with nero or other burning app.

alkohol,

I'm no expert by any means, but you have to use an image hosting website. I use photobucket but there are several others too.

dabig25,

You will probably be ok to just let DVDCopy3's burning engine do the burn, but I was reading on another thread that you have a phillips dvdrw and some of them will burn some 4x rated media at 8x. This doesn't bother some of the high quality media. I have found that 4x rated Ricohjpn media actually burns better at 8x.

Make a couple backups useing Copy3's burn engine and see what kind of results you get. If you have any playback problems, try the other method above and lower the burn speed to 4x or lower. Good luck and let me know how you do.

Did you downloaded "DirectX 9" also, it was required by InterVideo Dvd Copy 3. Perhaps, try with another good brand disc. So far I'm doing good backing up successfully and was able to play with any of my home stand alone dvd players and on my computer.

The difference in Platinum and Gold is that the Platinum can back up DVD9 and it can merge dvd image files, but not the Gold.

Yeah like alkohol said you need directX. Here's the link. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx If that doesn't work try some different media, preferably dvd+r booktyped dvd-rom. I quit useing G04's due to inconsistancy.

Mort81,

I was finally able to get around it and download directx.

I don't see the program though on my pc.

Do I have to open it when using dvd copy 3, or does it just automatically run in the background ??

Mort,

Having problems again. Downloaded DirectX, still don't see it on my pc.

You said it runs in the background. I burned with DVD Decrypter to my hard drive then used dvd copy 3 to put it on disk.

After it says it's complete. I took disc out and my standalone's and dvd rom don't see the disc.

What am I doing wrong ????

Using Ridata 8X dvd-r's , never had a problem with shrink.

You won't see DirectX on yor pc, It's like a driver, there is away to check for it but I don't remember how. Does the disc play on the dvdrw that you used to burn it with? I don't know what you've got wrong, must be a software conflict. You might try CloneDVD2, It's almost as good as DVDCopy3 IMO and I think it has a 3 week free trial period. Not sure what you got dude. DVD Shrink you say works ok? Keep us posted and good luck.

Can I also burn with DVD Decrypter and use Clone to put it onto disk ???

I don't have CloneDVD2, only used the trial and it has long expired, but yes IMHO it is better than shrink quality wise but not price wise (of course).Of the backup apps I own or have tried here is my order of preferance.

1)RB/CCE (own)

2)Intervideo DVDCopy3 (own)

3)CloneDVD2 (trial only)

4)Nero Recode 2 (own)

5)DVD Shrink (seldom use)

6)DVDXCopy Xpress (own, never use)

Mort 81,

I know Rebuilder is free but, I tried downloading it and setting it up but, It seems the user guide is out dated.

It was telling to go to settings that weren't even there.

Does anyone have an updated userguide ??

I've tried setting it up twice and have been pulling out my hair trying to figure it out.

Will it work with Decrypter?? or should I get the CCE Basic everyones talking about ?? that's the one for $58 right ???

Need help please, setting up Rebuilder Don't know how........

Huhhmmmm..... this is weird, it seems kind a odd to me. Have you tried backed it up on other media? Perhaps, you should consider some Fuji and TY by chance? Was it successfully backed up by DVD Copy 3 and can you played it on your computer player i.e. windows media, windvd, powerdvd, nero showtime? I've used Dvd Copy2 and Dvd Copy 3 back to back, however, I haven't have that kind of issue before. Thus, am sorta clueless to help you out on here. Hopefully, "Mort81" will be able to solve your problem soon.

hi dabig25,
Perhaps, you can have a try on winavi dvd copy which works very fine for me! Besides, it is very easy to use!
By the way, you can download the winavi dvd copy from http://www.winavi.com/download/WinAVI_DVD_Copy.exe... . It is free to try!

dabig25,

I don't know what you've got going on with DVDCopy3. It was one of the easiest proggy's to set up for me and very simple to use. You must have a software conflict of some sort. I know that Nero InCD and Roxio can cause some problems and would recommend getting rid of these if you have them.

RB//CCE is very easy to use once it is set up, but can be kinda difficult setting up for first time users. There is an installer for DVDRebuilder. I'll see if I can find it. You will also need dgdecode.dll (decoder) (which comes bundled with the installer), AviSynth 2.5, and CCE basic (recomended) or QuEnc or ReJig (encoders). Read through this thread in the meantime while I look for the installer. You need AviSynth 2.5 before you can download and install DVDRebuilder installer. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/97052
