Am able to make copies of VCR programs to DVDs using a two step process. First, copy the VCR->DVD, and then if I want to make copies of the DVD, use CloneDVD2 to write to a Disk file, then make how many copies I want back to DVDs. Most of the tapes I have are recorded from the Discovery or History channels and still have the commercials embedded. Have been using a lengthy process of reviewing the VCR data, and then keeping track of commercial starts/stops and record just the program data. Doing this, and then setting up chapters is a real pain. Does software exist that I can read in the DVD data using CloneDVD into my computer, then edit out the commercials, setup the chapters, etc., and if available, what is/are the name(s)? Thanks in advance for any replies.

erm... i have used Nero vision express to do this. you can set various start/stop point in the movie and it chops out the inner.

Hi: Tried your recommendation. I dubbed a 4 hour tape to a DVD and within the DVD I turned all Automatic Chaptering off. Using CloneDVD2 I built a file on a disk. I see it busted up the file into ~1GB segments and got them all in. Then went into Nero Vision Express and imported the file into there. In the process, it broke the segments up into 59 second increments and after 2 GB had been imported, it said the 99 limit was exceeded and wouldn't import any more. I was expecting a homongus file to be imported with just one chapter; i.e. the start chapter and then I could mark chapters from there. By the way, the PDF manual on the whole operation is very poor. If I ever get this situation resolved, will write and post a guide for this operation. Thanks for any ideas on this subject.
