Ok thats why. U were using Nero vision express, not Nero express or Nero burning rom.
Also I dont think there is a way to add VOB files and add a menu to them and burn it. I have my movies already converted to dvd files and just wanted to add a movie and burn it.

alrighty.i've also been stumped with the menu creation problem.i've just joined so please forgive me if i'm just making life hard for myself.i took a six episode series and converted to two VOB files-3 episodes each.my Nero was arsing about so i used image tool burn to transfer to dvd but of course there was no menu to choose episodes.
if i converted each episode individually you're saying Nero burning rom will let me create a menu process?is there any alternative programmes cos its all been Nero in the discussion.i should have come here weeks ago:)any help would be well appreciated.

wel sorry for the delay in a reply but...YES!!!got hold of vision express;threw in three AVI files;created a rather neat menu;nero spent the next lot of hours converting and burning.THEN when i put it in the dvd the menu came up but it wouldnt play any of the titles.am i missing something?i had a problem before where a Nero menu screen was set to an infinite pause but i cant see the same option here.i'm gonna give it another go but im just not confident about all this.btw vision express only recognises avi/mpeg not VOB?
yes that is exactly what i do when i want to burn something i dloaded. i dont convert, i just add it to the Nero list, make a menu, click burn, and wallah!!!! it takes a long time to do this, but in the end i have never had many problems. dont really dload much to burn though, only 2 times total, and it was stupid crap for a friend. i am interested in quality, not piracy.
let me know if it works the second time. yum had a tough time with this, so good luck.

well eventually i get back.so this is the crack then.if you download avi/mpeg files...1-convert with divx to dvd converter;2-use dvdlab pro to create a menu and compile the dvd then 3-whack the new file into DVD Shrink and hit backup!dvd shrinks good cos if you have a film split in two discs you create the menu then reauthor the files and tear out the two title so they play back to back.see.i'm gonna get a life one of these days:)
