Sorry if this question has been asked but im on a tight timetable here so no time for searchin sry! Anyway a virgin(unmodded) PS2/Two wont play copied games. Ok. Why does it play coiped movies on the same DVD-R media? I thought it ran the anti backup crap everytime you hit the eject button. doesnt that mean it should block copied movies too? and lastly if they play cause of a burn method or somethin dont that mean that i could by some miracle rivaling the parting of the seas play a copied game if i use the same burn method on the same media without modding? just curious. Thanks in Advanced.

wow, read the stickies in this forum...backup ps2 games cannot be played without the means of a modchip or swap disc to boot them. They have their boot info 'pressed' onto the disc in the BCA (burst cutting area). This area cannot be read by our dvd burners, therefore writing to this area of the disc is impossible. SO, we use modchips or swapdiscs to get around needing it.

Movies do not have this boot info, as it is a ps2 thing, so they have no problem loading right up.

no prob :)

Simple fix is probably SwapMagic discs v3.3 or v3.6
If you have a ps2 v1-11, you can either buy/make the slidecard or buy a fliptop lid.
If you have a pstwo slimline, you can buy the slimtool, replacement fliptop lid, or use the tapemod.

I have the New slim PS2. Used to have an old 1 but may it RIP so ill have to retire my self carved Credit card/slide card lol. was looking at the slimtool but not sure if id rather have that or a fliptop. Never had the Swap magic disc either, i used an old PS2/1 Gameshark to boot things. Im all kinds of poor mans tools overhere lol.

I used the first method figured out to get this swap to work on my slimline. The good ole 'tapemod'. This is definitely the cheapest and quickest method to use. If you don't plan on needing any recognized swaps, then this method is good.

I have had mine tapemodded for about 6 months or so now and have not had a problem yet. This is also not a permanent mod either, and if you want to preserve the warranty sticker for any reason, it can be used as a hinge when opening up the case.
