hey thanks,
my apologies, didnt know if you had automated email responses or somthing of that nature. Anyway,yeah..Ill try that. As far as compatibility issues, there shouldnt be any according to the instruction, any standard burning app should handle it the way you listed. Ill try the pc emulator and see what happens. Oh yeah..hey might I ask why is it you dont actually charge for an app like this..is it licencing issues? You could/couldve made some serious dough. All that being said even when I havent seen how it works yet..lol.

the reason I cannot and will not charge money for the app is because I did not make any of them. They are all freely availible apps distrubuted for the ps2. I just put them all together and made it easy to make it do what I made it do. A lot of people prolly wouldnt be able to put this together like this. But if any of the authors found out I was charging for this I would be in big trouble.

Not to mention that if Sony wanted to come after me they would have a harder time getting anything since I never did charge anything for it.

That and the fact that if I sold it I would need to offer real support for the apps. And there are too many different situations for me to help everyone.

I figured with the donations option people who trully apreciated it they would donate even $1. If everyone that downloaded it only gave $1 I would be $5000 or more ritcher by now.

Instead I have a bunch of thank you's.

I am not complaining, because I never expected to make money off this. I have a real job, and I like to help where I can. I am thinking of offering support for the AIO disk on a donation paid basis though. I just havnt had the time to set it up.

gatcha. Just an update and one more question. I got the cd to boot using virtual pc and Nero. However,in hdloader whenever I try to swap a disk so that it can be installed on the hd I keep getting a message saying "unable to vaildate disk" this happens with backups and originals. Do you know why this might be? Thanks for all the help so far.

Hi! I'm a total newbee to all of this. I just started reading about USB eXtreme and playing games from hard disk.
I found a link to your page on some forum. I have downloaded your cd. But before I burn it on cd I have a question:
I have an external hard drive and want to play games from there on my ps2. Doe your cd support this? I have a slimline ps2 (with modchip matrix infinity).

And then a question not about your cd but maybe you (or someone else) can help me. I downloaded USB advance from the internet and burned it onto a cd-r. I formatted my new hard disk with the tools from usb eXtreme and also put a game on the hard disk with usb eXtreme tools. I plugged my hard drive into the ps2 and put the cd-r in it. But I just get a black screen. The software doesn't load. Anyone any idea how to solve this or some link where I can read how to solve it?

I also saw, while reading forums, something about exploit. What is this exploit exactly? Maybe I need this to get it working?

I have been looking since 12 o'clock (its now 16:38) and haven't figured much out. Maybe some of you can give me some links to tutorials or so if you don't want to explain everything.
Thanx in advance!!!!

Hi,

I have ps2 v12 slimline. I also have 2.5" external usb hdd which i have "installed" a game onto using the format and loading utilities downloaded from hdadvance.com for the usbextreme solution.

I also have a modchip installed - Not sure which as I did not install
it myself.

If I boot with usbadvance it lists the game I have installed on the hdd, but when I try to load it it hangs on display where it says its loading the game.

Any ideas/help

Thanks

Regards,
Andre Thomas

torko and andret,

except for the question about stinky's disc supporting an external hdd (which i'll let stinky himself answer), you guys are posting on the wrong thread. i'm an HDAdvance person myself, not usbadvance, and i can't speak for everybody else who has been posting here, but i'm pretty sure that they aren't either, so you probably won't find much help here. if searching doesn't help, start your own threads in the PS2 general discussion forum.

Damn...

thanky you esco.

I am not providing support for soeftware other than my own.

So to answer the questions. My disk has USBADVANCE on it. Burn it and use it just as the instructions say.

Both of you CAN NOT use the exploit since it doesnt work on the slim ps2.

And the reason your game is hanging is because the mode is wrong, or the game just wont work off the hdd.

Now that I answered all your questions I take donations in the form of MONEY on the link from my site.

Stinky,

Paypal doesnt work from South Africa. For some or the other reason they dont allow people from South Africa to sign up?

Perhaps you should considider one of the other electronic payment solutions? :)

Thanks for quick response anyway.

Tried the cd. It starts ok. But then when I start the usb advance I get the same as before. I see the screen blip (shows some white lines on the screen as if it will show something on the screen) and then nothing, black screen. Does anyone know how to solve this?

P.S: Sorry if I posted the other question in the wrong thread.

I have an OFF TOPIC question here. I have a SLIM LINE PS2 and I'm trying to transfer a save from my PC. Is there a way to burn this to DVD so that it can be copied? I've heard that Slim Lines don't respond to the INdepence Exploit And also... if you can copy a save to your memory card from a Demo Disc why can't you do it with a DVD R?

If it doesn't respond to the independence exploit the only way I can think of doing it is by getting a sharkport or a maxdrive or something similar, but they cost money.

I dont know anything about usb extreme or any other usb hdd type software. I just put it on for people that may not be blessed to have the fat ps2.

I have problems burning it on an DVD. I have followed the insctuctions to the letter and im using Nero. After i try to boot the DVD i just see the memcard icon on the screen. The CD version works just fine except my ps2 has problems reading CDs keep getting "insert disc" and have to retry couple of times before it loads. I have an messiah chip and DVD backups works 100%.

Info for burning this on DVD:

Open Nero burning rom (I dont use express so these instructions will not
use it). Start a new compilation.
4. Make sure you select dvd in the drop menu, it may say cd now but chage
it.
5. Scroll down all the way and select Dvd-Rom (UDF/ISO).
6. On the mutisession tab select no multisession.
7. On the ISO tab make sure there are no check marks in any of the boxes,
(there is one that is greyed out that says allow more than 64 charecters,
dont worry about this).
8. Still on the ISO tab file name length should be max of 11 = 8 + 3chars
Iso level 1
9. Still on ISO tab charecter set should be iso 9660 (standard iso cd rom)
10. Next under UDF tab UDF partion type should be Physical Partition
11. Still inder UDF tab file system version should be UDF 1.02
12. Leave force dvd-video compatability uchecked
13. Under the label tab make up a name for you compilation
14. Dates tab leave it alone it doesnt matter
15. Misc tab make sure each box has a check mark
16. Burn tab, if it is going to be less than s gigs burn at your slowest
speed, otherwise dont worry too much
17. Hit the new button
18. Browse to the BOOT CD folder that you unpacked using WinRAR and put all the files and folders in
there just the way they are
19. Hit burn
20. Sit back and wait

Is the guide correct?? Does that allow u to boot dvd? All other game ISOS works on the same media. Tested 2 different cinds allready. Isnt there other ways to build a bootable dvd some guide maybe? All guides if found are for making CDs Ive played some with CD-DVDCreator and managet to get it to boot. But it just booted couldnt read the other elfs on the dvd.

I was not even completly sure how to make the cd into a bootable dvd. I thought it was not possible. One of the users here downloaded my disc set and started experimenting. I suspect he used another dvd guide from some other place to get him started. But I tried it out and it worked first try. So I asked if I could include that info in my disk set. He agreed and now you have a direct cut and paste of the instructions I followed to do it.

I have not heard of anyone else having problems with it not booting.

What version of Nero are you using? Also are you doing everythng as a step by step?

I cant think of anything else you could do.

Im using Nero551056 maybe thats the problem? Are you using 6.x version? Yes everything by step! Have tried a couple of times differend on dvds same problem. Refuses to boot. I have an old messiah chip, that can also be part of the problem...
