You guys are dumb. You can put games on a memory stick a boot. you have to change the systems firmware. I know s guy who has it done.
Maybe the guys that come in your store really do know what they are talking about. Oh Yeah I can make it happen for yours to play off a memory stick for a small fee.....

Wow, this thread is just keep on reviving.

fcfresh1, what's your firmware?

#1: 2.81 -> 3.03 -> 3.11 DoH (no more :D)
#2: 1.00 -> 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c
#3: Ceramic white 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c -> 3.40oe
Whatever happens, happens...

I'm baffled that nobody has replied to this thread yet with the solution.

So if you install one of the custom firmwares onto your psp (3.40 OEA or the such), you can simply drop the .iso or .cso umd images into your ISO folder on the memory stick and play.

I have a 4gb memory stick loaded with about 8 games (snes emulator, Rainbow Six Vegas, Call of Duty, Ratchet/Clank, Marvel Trading Card game, Hot Pixel, Worms Open Warfare, etc.).

Check some of the other modding threads for this type of discussion.

Thanks

bot this is an old thread, guess i'll just support the other guys

http://www.mgforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31640

it seems sony at one point wanted to release games that you can download and put on the memory cards, but piracy beat them too it.

Well, there is always the demos Sony releases. You're right tho - the hackers beat them to it. That's why I love this scene; the hackers do everything first and push the psp to its limits a/f/a creativity.

Hi,

Well I want to tell ye lads who ever thinks that people can not play games without an UMD is totally wrong. I bought my PSP in China and I download all my games for free off the internet and then I put them onto my memory stick and I play them all. I don't even own any game on UMD. Over the last few days I found out how I can change my PSP to use UMD and not use UMD which enables people like myself to play games without the use of any UMD. So the people that tell you in GAMESTOP that the can play them are correct.

Sorry for bursting your bubble mate. If you want I can tell ye all how to do it.

Have fun wasting money on games.

id don't want to start a piracy v.s non-piracy riot, but at least buy a few games every now and then, eventually piracy will become to easy (if it isn't already) then we will have a serious problem...........
