You could burn it as a data dvd.

yes,this is a ps2 section,
however.....
if you have an AVI file and wish to burn to dvd,you can just burn it as mentioned above,
or..

you will need to convert the files into a burnable state..a proper dvd sort

hehe

you will need something like vso's dvixtodvd, its free and u can download it from this site,
load the AVI in it,select a destination folder, hit convert

this will give a video ts folder, which u then have to burn to a dvd
i use clonedvd2 for my vts folders,or a new proggy on the market called prassi ones

hopes this helps, but next time, use the correct forum

regards

Nero Recode 2.0 can help you accomplish this. Once you launch it, click on the link where it says "Make DVD from movie files from your Folder." Select the movies you want, then Nero Recode will make the menu, the chapters and the DVD structure that will let you play the disc on any dvd players. I'm using a 2.8 ghz Pentium 4, 512 MB DDR pc 2100 and it took me 9 hours to finish a dvd with 4 GB of movie files. Just use my as standard, you can figure how long will it take you to complete your task.

Hursty, which program do you think is the best for movies?
I have been using Nero, and it takes 3hrs or so to burn one.
But the quality i get is really good, no skips or anything. But if one of the programs you mentioned can do that, and faster i would appreciate the knowledge. I have DVD Shrink too, but have not tried it.

I say 'Dvd Decrypter' with '1Click Dvd Copy' is really good. Awesome quality and simplistic. Decrypting to the hdd doesn't take more than like 10-15min. Then compressing/burning with '1Click' takes about a halfhour or less probably.
