I tried burning with them all, but the minimum burn speed is 4x with Max as the only other option. I read burning games at 1x and 2x was best, but how is that possible with only 2 choices? Or is there something in the menus somewhere I can adjust? Movies range from 1x to 16x and Max, so it's not the blanks. Thanks

Disregard....found it in the options in Alcohol. Only used it for a few days so still learning.

Actually that STILL doesn't work. Even though I set it on 2x, I saw on the burning screen it's still burning at 4x. WTF? The log screen says 2x, but where it shows the %, blocks, etc...4x. From the looks of the speed it's definitely faster than 2x.

what burner do you have
your burner might not allow to burn at 2x

i have a lite-on and cant burn slower than 4x

also i have been burning games at 4x with little to no problems

perhaps if it's an 8x max media that you're using, it might only be able to go down to 4x?

I know when i use 8X discs the slowest it will burn is at between 3.8 and 5X
Never any slower, but since they all work i don't question it too much.

Yeah, 8x Ridata's and a Pioneer DVR 108. I'll try some 4x's and see if that helps. Thanks for the info.

The reason I questioned mine, at first Star Wars Battlefront was working great. But now it has problems with switching weapons, modes, etc... without hitting any buttons. It could be a controller going bad, as I even tried the store bought NBA Shootout 2004, and when the menus pop up, I can't do anything...no moving or hitting the "x". These are my first attempts at games and it's someone else's console, so it could be the controller.

if you are having problems with originals i a=would get a new controller. It couldn't hurt
Just make sure you buy a SONY controller.
I have tried a few of the knock off types and they just never last very long.
