can anybody explain why a copy would be choppy when using dvd rb,,and right after that have a succesfull copy with recode2 same media,move,settings,,, then change movies and your good copy could come from dvd rb and the messed up one from recode2... boggles the mind!

Sounds like a media problem. Seems as though both your programs may or may not make a good burn. Like the discs are inconsistent. What are you using?
