Hello to all this is my first post.

I want to know if I have a Divx movie and I do know how to convert to DVD.

My question is I got a movie that was originally in English but this version is from Germany.

And the words are now in german.

How or is it possble to convert the audio back what it orginally was. Is this possible or do I have to download the english version.

Thanks mark Nomad

How did you convert the AVI to DVD? Maybe you choose the wrong audio track.
Being in the dark as you left me, I suggest you to use VirtualDubMod.
Open the file. Go to Streams > Streams List.
You will see all the audio Stream list contained in the AVI file. If you find all streams you're OK. If not, the movie you have hadn't got all the audio stream you said and you need to get another.

Select the audio you don't want to keep and click 'Disable'.
Then click OK, be careful to have the setting Video__Direct Stream Copy and File__Save (F7). In few minutes you'l have another AVI which has only the audio stream you want to keep and the same video (you 'direct stream copied' it).

I was clear on my delima... The orignal movie I want to convert to DVD is in german it is just the video file itself.

Is there a way to convert the audio or extract the audio and convert it to english. the movie is from the US but premiered in Germany can i change the audio?

I hope i explained that a little better..

that would take some very special software to convert languages, I don't think it exists. It sounds as though if you got ahold of the English track you could remove the German and replace it.

It was just a thought I did find and do have both versions now..

I was wondering if there was such a thing if you could change the language back to enghlish since they are dub voices.'

It's not easy, but can be done.
Open the english one in VirtualDub.
Select Audio, Full Processing, then File, Save .wav
You now have an English .wav file.
Open the German one, select Audio, .wav audio, and load the English .wav
Now you can start pulling your hair out trying to sync it.

Could I sync the audio in a program called Steinberg Nuendo 2

I have that version and wondering if that could be done for future problems.

Steinberg might do it. I use Soundforge, but any app that allows the video and audio to be adjusted independently, otherwise, it's trial and error in something like Goldwave or Audacity.
If it's a constant sync, then VirtualDub could do it.
If it's Progressive, you'll need a more powerful app.
