What kind of burner do you have and what is the current firmware? Use Nero info tool and check your burner and current firmware. Firmware upgrade on your burner will aid in disk recognition.
From Scuba Pete's Guide
Quote: Firmware
Let's check for up-to-date Firmware for your burner.
"OK, so what is this "Firmware" garbage?"
Fair question. Firmware is a "tutor" who's job it is to "introduce" all the different kinds of media to your burner and to tell your burner a little bit about it. What type of media it is and at what speed to burn it.
As new media is introduced OR, as the manufacturers of your burner find new ways to use it, new Firmware updates come out to "school" your burner, keeping it up-to-date.
What firmware do you have? Download this Firmware tool and find out. This tool will check out your firmware's health (up-to-date wise).
Firmware, You can't burn backups without it! Keep yours updated !

Do you mean your computer is Packard Bell? If so, then yes go to the PB site and in support find your computer and any upgrades.

anouschka,
After you have flashed your litey with the latest and greatest f/w and you are still having problems, there is another trick to try called resetting your eeprom. I had some problems with my litey when I first started useing verbatums too. The eeprom reset cured the problem and now burns them better than any other media I've used. If needed let me know and I'll get ya the link to the eeprom utility.

yeah, i agree completely w/ what mort81 said too~ while i've never had a problem with my litey/sony, his advice could prove VERY helpful if need be~ that would be an alternate way to get things up and going from a different perspective. :)
good luck to you.

Here's the link. http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=83441 Make sure you read everything good. Use at your own risk as lite-on does not support and it is not an official lite-on utility. Be sure to make a backup of your current eeprom values somewhere you can find it. If I remember right the downloaded files are .rar and you will need a tool to uncompress them. I use 7-Zip.
Like I said it made a world of difference with my litey and never caused any problems. Good luck
