Hi,

I just got a copy of Xenosaga 2 to work with the DVDloader and everything, but alot of the times, the movies freeze up and won't let me advance. I also hit a point only about 45 minutes into the game where there are some lock up issues, has anyone experienced this? Does anyone know how to fix it?

Thanks.

You will need to perform a TOC Refresh to correct this problem. I'm still struggling to rebuild it successfully.

The only solution is a TOC refresh. Rebuilding is rather impossible now since there's no Xenosaga 2 extractor out. I personally use Devil May Cry 1 for TOC refreshing and never get any issues. You can find it cheap in game stores in the used section. I bought my copy for 10 dollars at my local EBGames.

Some people have reported DMC1 to not work with DVDLoader but I found a workaround to this issue. The trick is to put in a game DVDLoader works with the first time it asks for a disc, then press X. When it asks for the DVDR, instead of swapping, eject the game and put in DMC (also works with GTA:SA which has problems with DVDLoader too). The PS2 will read the TOC info automatically and should stop the disc about 5 seconds after. Now, you swap DMC for your Xenosaga 2 disc using whatever method you use and it should work flawlessly.

It's a small investment but you're almost guaranteed never need to worry about games not working due to TOC refresh issues. I haven't had problems with any game since I've been using DMC1 as my TOC refresh. Plus, it's a classic that everyone should have in their game library ;) lol

For Xenosaga 2 you can also use CogSwapLoader which has no problems with any games (I'm not aware of any game specific issue) when it comes to TOC refreshing. I personally use CogSwap most of the time and resort to DVDLoader if there's a game that requires a special booting option. Otherwise, CogSwap is quite compatible with games. I'd say just as much as DVDLoader. If it doesn't work with one it could possibly work with the other.

If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.
