CD Drive wont read Game CDs

Okay, so far ive had this CD drive checked twice, it refuses to read CD's, nothing happens. The light flashes for 20 seconds and doesnt do anything after, sometimes if im lucky it will read but it takes very long and lags up my computer. I cant figure out whats wrong x_x i had it checked once by my moms boyfriend's friend who repairs computers but...he saw no problem. My Comp is a Compaq*Hate these types* and the Drive is able to read blank CD-R disks and i can burn songs but NEVER a game. Someone help? x_x I wanna play my Call of Duty

try a cd/dvd disc cleaner. how old is the drive??

Eh, probably three years old i guess? How much are disk cleaners? o.o or CD-Drive cleaners?

cd/dvd disc cleaner disk is about $10Can. if still don't work, try it on another computer to see if problem follows or not!

And for the other comp thing, i do have another but its heavy and its a pain to hook up x.o'

get a new cd burner as a 52x32x52 are going for $28Can. or get a dvd burner if meet the specs as going for $64Can.
