AVI2DVD - Subs out of sync

The subs (.srt) synchronized fine with the movie (.avi) when I watched it by using BSplayer (on my PC), however it is out of sync when I watch it on the regular DVD player. I created the ISO image by using AVI2DVD and burned the image with DVD- Decrypter and Nero. The movie came out beautiful and the subtitle does came on but it was out-of-sync. I then tried to resync the subs with the movie by using Arpa Kolla Player. This software generated a new .srt file and I went through the ISO and burning process again. However, the subs still out-of-sync. HELP!

I really haven't used AVI2DVD so I can't help you there, but I suggest you try using VSO DIVX to DVD. The program has always worked for me and I never have any sync problems. I don't know about subtitles for that program though. Sorry.

i would try asking at trust.fm website on out of sync probs, but try film machine its very much like avi2dvd! and a free app

DVDsanta has a sync option, whether it works with sub-titles, I've no idea.
It's free to try. Best used with a RW disc tho'.

I have the subs-out-of-sync problem only with movies that come in 2 parts and 2 corresponding srt files. Basically, when avi2dvd joins the 2 srt files, the timing in the 2nd part becomes out of sync. To fix this problem, I would join the 2 avi files using virtualdubmod and the 2 srt files using Subtitle Workshop. After figuring out the delay time in Subtitle Workshop, I would adjust the timing by simply selecting the second half of the combined srt file and applying Edit/Timings/Set delay. After checking to make sure everything is in sync, I would then use avi2dvd to encode this now one-part movie into dvd video.

I had exactly the same problem. 2 AVI files, 2 .srt files. Used subtitle workshop to join the .srt files. Avi2DVD had already joined the avi's on an earlier failed attempt at DVD output. So for anyone using 2 files for video and subtitles - join them first! Its now working fine!

Thanks for the info. However, my problem was with 1 AVI and 1 SRT. Anyway, I was able to locate a copy of WINAVI and my DVDs came out fine. Thanks again.

I only use 2 programs when converting 2 avs and subs to dvd. Heres what i do and it works every time!
Before using these programs i had sync probs with audio and subs but no more probs now!
Install a program called VobSub as this will force the subtitles.
Install Canopus Procoder 2.
Make sure when you unpack the download that you have the 2 avis and the subs files in exactly the same folder.
There is no need to join these either as Canopus will do this for you.
Start Canopus Procoder and put a tick in the stitch box as this will join the files together,
then choose a target which will be dvd PAL or whatever you wish to do then click convert and choose a path for output
if you don't choose a path then the default path is my documents. Then hit convert! watch the first 5 mins you should
see the subtitles being tranconded with the movie, if so then unclick preview as this will slow down convertion.
Its as Simple as that.

i'm not mad on canopus procoder v2 i found avi2dvd/CCE better or anything that uses CCE for good quailty...
isohunt, yer kill me man ya kill me....

hi, I am new at this. I wanted to add subtitle to my AVI file when burning so I try use TMGEnc to convert the subtitle but the quality was bad so I switch to Avi2DVD. This is one AVI file and subtitle file I want to convert together. I succesfully converted the files together to an ISO image. Then I burn it with Alcohol 120%. But the subtitle are out of sync. I read above that Didinh located an WINAVI. He/She said that the DVD came out great. What exactly is this? What can I do to solve my problem. Please help me. Thanks ahead of time.
