Swap Magic, USA build??!!?? HELP ME! im a noob

Hi, i have been looking for ages trying to find an answer to this. Basically the problem that i have is that i purcahsed Swap Magic 3.3 from ebay and when i recieved it i put it in the PS2 straight away but i keep getting the "Please Insert a Playstation or PS2 format disc" i was thinking if it has something to do with the USA build?
Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds to me like you bought a backup copy or your copy just doesn't work. I have SM3.3 also, when you put it in your PS2 it should load with no problems.

I have found out from the person that i bought it from that they "accidentely" mixed it up.. She said that the USA Build will not work with PAL Version of the PS2... is she right?

She is correct.
if your using a PAL ps2 then you must have PAL swap magic disks.
And vice versa.
Now once you have loaded swap magic there is an option for PAL games,
But if your using the Usa build you must have a NTSC ps2.

Because if u r then does that mean u got ur swap magic disk from an aussie seller or american? Also wouldnt you rather a mod chip?

Oh ok, i did get it from a woman in London. and apparently her excuse was that she was away and her flat mate must of "chosen" the wrong one.. Now she is asking me to send it back to her, which i may do..
About the modchip, i know it would be a lot easier are they hard to install? Im just worried about doing the PS2 in.

just buy the swap magic 3.6, it has the function to do PAL and NTSC games...
i have it and it works w/ all my games w/ no problems
