Nero not burning at my DVD-R speed

I just bought Nero 6 Ultra edition. I was using the downloaded version from here and liked it, so I bought it. But I am having a problem. My DVD burner is 4X and Nero will only burn at 2X. I don't know how to fix it.
As a side note; when I first downloaded Nero from this site and used it, it burned at 4X and after about a month it would only burn at 1X. I assume that is what the demo is supposed to do. Please help.

First of all I dont think Nero Demo will lock the speed to 1x instead it wont let you enter the program, second of all remember media speed and quality(some media even though its advised to burn at 8x or 16x it would burn at less speed, third what DVD burner do you have, maybe updating the firmware will solve the problem, also check if DMA is active, all these factors may influence over the speed the drive can burn, but it would be easier to help if you could post what media and drive you are using.
