I'm new to modding the ps2. Is there anyway to boot the ps2 directly from the hard drive or mem card with out the use of a cd or dvd? An then chose your game or app from a menu.

No not with out a disc, because the PS2 has to be told what you want it to do, HDloader will allow you to boot the HDD to play games without the Original disc, but HDloader itself is a disc.

Thanks for replying. So even if I did the mem card exploit it still has to boot from a cd?
