Once again here is another heads up for everyone on a new movie. Are we there yet? DVD. Well running the latest version of DVDSHRINK the process failed during analysis with that good ole' error that I am sure we have all seen, "cycle redundancy check". Well I tried 3 other dvd's of the same movie and got the same thing. Bad pressing? Maybe, but unlikely. In unreferenced material there is a 1 file called vts3 I think, anyways it is the only file there and is 31 mb of nothing. Just black screen. If you use ANYDVD, then maybe you can get past it, but here are the steps that I took for a successful backup!
(1) I ran the latest version of DVD DECRYPTER and ripped the files to the harddrive.
(2) I used the latest version of DVDSHRINK.
(3) I used Nero to burn it with.
Hope you find this helpful!

k this is weird. ok i just downloaded the new versions of DVD Decrypter & DVD Shrink. I also downloaded a free trial version of any dvd so it can bypass the encryption to this movie that i have. I am trying to burn this "are we there yet." However, i have it in my Hard drive already. Just the movie not the extras and stuff. I reauthored it thru DVD Shrink. Now was burning it with the decrypter at 4x write speed with my dynex 8x dvd+r and it was going fine. Until about 54% into it comes up a box saying: Failed to read from file Are_we_there_yet.iso Reason: Data Error(Cyclic redundancy check). And then goes into finish mode with the decrypter and says "OH NO." ALso this is the 2nd time that i have done this and lost 2 dvd+r's in doing so.. Any recommendtion? thx...

How much free HD space do you have? Are you trying to burn the ISO file or did you do the convertion? What software are you using to burn? I have heard this is going to be a hard movie to back up but I sure we ca an get it right.

That is what worked for me lisa32 I did not mess with the settings on DVD Decrypter or DVD Shrink. I also use Nero 6 to burn with.
Make sure that DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink are up to date. Use DVD Decrypter and when it is finished close it out open up DVD Shrink and select OPEN FILES (right beside open disc), find the folder where DVD Decrypter placed the decrypted files and use DVD Shrink to compress the files. i would not worry about burning the files yet, just getting them compressed is the biggest thing. I will check back. I hope you get it to working for you!

HOSERLPB - The folder you created for DVD Decrypter to put the files should have 2 folders inside 1 called audio and 1 called video. Open the video folder from DVD Shrink and then it will run it

ANNNY - Open up DVDSHRINK choose "open files" find the output folder that DVD Decrypter made for you then open the "VIDEO_TS" folder, then click "OK". DVDSHRINK should then begin to analyze the files. Then when it is done click "BACKUP". I hope that helps you, I'll check back to make sure! See ya!
