Best Buy has the Sony 1 GB High-Speed Pro Duo stick on sale for $134.99

Best Buy Online was selling the Sandisc version for the same price - which I ordered. But when I was in the store this week they had the Sony High-Speed version for the same price. I bought one and returned the Sandisc.

I have two full length movies and a handful of songs on the stick. In this case one movie is Spongebob and the other is Return of the Jedi. Spongebob could handle the compression. I would not put two regular movies on 1 GB cause of the compression required.

Today is the last day of the sale!

Fry's has the Sony "High-Speed" 1 GB Duo Pro for $100? Most places don't even have the Sony brand in stock. That must be an in-store only price, since I had reviewed their online offering thru Outpost.com and they don't even sell a 1 GB Duo stick. I have been reading every Friday ad to see what memory was on sale for the last four weeks at Fry's and didn't see any 1 GB Duo's by Sony or Sandisk. Could it have been the standard 1 GB stick and not the new "High-Speed" Red Label Pro Duo? Cause the standard stick is less money.

I would be shocked to see the Sony selling for that price, when the Sandisc is not even that low. But if they have it for $100, then I will go get my second one this week!!

Sorry to sound so doubtful - I'm more mad at myself since I may have missed a better buying oppurtunity. But not from a lack of trying!

I have no idea if they have one in NY. We just got the one in Vegas less than a year ago. Like Sam's Club or Cosco, but bigger and better and only electronics.

You could build a monster PC from scratch without ever leaving the store. They have it all, software, hardware, TVs, videos, PCs, PC parts, magazines, gadgets, stereos, go carts, toys, blank media, game consoles, games, xxx DVDs, furniture, and even a restaurant. All of these categories have huge selections. Great prices and great sales.

Not always as good as Rima.com, Supermediastore.com, Newegg.com - but dang good for a local store. Outpost.com sells some of their stuff online, as they don't have their own online presence.

dats a good idea.

too be honest thats the kind of thing i do.
but if u search good on ebay u can grab a bargain.

i got my 1gb for £32 inc p+p. it took me about 2 hours, i was watching lots of memory cards and one of them didn't go high enough.

so its just if u look and the right time or just keep looking.

i'm looking for another 2gb myself, the lowest fixed price on ebay is £72 inc p+p but if i bid i am guranteed to get it cheaper.

ooohhhh, crap, i just told u my whole life story.....

If God didn't want us to eat animals why did he make them out of meat?

God made animal out of meat to test us, if we can resist it, and follow one of his commands probably (even though i eat meat myself)
heres another life story......sigh....

And how about animals? Lots of animals eat other animals naturally so they don't get into heaven?
And Jesus ate fish didn't he? :)

I'm sorry to laugh at you for returning the Sandisc for the Sony High speed stick. The sony high speed stick is the slowest one on the market. Not just a little slower, ALOT slower. And the sandisc is 20 meg (or so) bigger.

here's my proof:
http://hardware.gamespot.com/Story-ST-20872-2229-x-x-x

The SanDisk memory sticks still outperformed the Sony models even with the PSP file transfer overhead. Aside from the transfer speed differences, we didn't notice much of a difference between the cards while using them for normal media playback or saving games on the PSP. Judging by the test results, if you're looking for a fast and affordable memory stick, we'd pick the SanDisk over Sony any day.

I have a frys electronics in Seattle. I got my scandisk 1gb for $70 with $30 mail in so I got mine for $40. That store where I live is bigger than Home Depot. www.outpost.com maybe has 1/3 of what you could find in the store. Theres so many freaken insane deals. Especially around x-mas woa!

In fact I think we would be fooling our selves if we have a community this large, and did not realize that there are some enemies present.

I bought a 2GB Sony High-Speed from eBay for $130 US. I notice that many times when I turn on my PSP it does not recognize the stick.

Is that a common problem or do I have a defective unit? If I turn it off, remove the stick, insert the stick, and turn it on - everything is fine - very strange.

I have 4 full-length movies and about 20 songs on the stick. The movies look and sound great. I use Nero Recode 2 for encoding and transferring to the PSP.
