Ok, i've been reading for hours about elf files and how to create an MC exploit disc. Now, that's all fine and dandy but I must be failing to see a few things about this. I was hoping someone who knows could clear some things up for myself and others who are just as confussed as I am.

First off I've got a fatty PS2 with a harddrive installed and use HD Advance 2.0 to convert and run games from my hard drive. Now, when I tried to convert God of War and it failed, I started searching online and found out the reason is that HD Advance cannot read Dual Layer discs. Upon furter searching I found out about elf files and have downloaded the 'hdlsource.elf' file and 'hdl_dl.ips' from PS2 source.

Now for the questions:

If I create an expliot disc, can I load the disc up with the HD Advance DVD without doing a swap trick and install this elf file for dual layer support to my memory card?

After the exploit is loaded on my memory card, do I have to do anything special at every boot up of the PS2 to load this file again?

once i've installed this exploit, will I be able to convert and play dual layer disc games like 'god of war' with the HD Advance loader I already own, or do I have to use another loader like hd loader which is supposed to be in the hdlsource.elf?

It would be awesome someone could create an extensive walkthough for doing this. If not, when I get enough information, I will be glad to compile a nice walkthough for all the other hd advance users who want to run dual layer disc games.

you can load the disc using the HDAdvance CD but you have to do the "swap trick".Once the files are on your memory card all you have to do is insert your PS1 trigger disc and the file named BOOT.ELF will load.
