Hi there,
Your problem is due to backing up NTSC format games. These are games which are made for USA TVs & PS2s. If you are in the UK (like me), you need to buy a NTSC to PAL converter. If you search around on the internet you should be able to find one. Look on eBay, I'm sure there will be one on there.
Good luck,
Carl
I've just signed up at Console Grab, where you can get free consoles, including the new PSP
Just complete one of their offers and refer friends to do the same and you're done.

Also, its not a scam because the BBC did a report and got a free PS2.

Thanks

what sladegam said is basically right
but because you have swap magic you can just change the boot settings for the region you want to load
so you can swap between pal and ntsc, well that is what i understand of it
all you need to do is, just below "load program" there is "mode" or sumit like that, highlight and just cycle through changing it from normal, to pal or ntsc
no need to buy anything else
hope this helps

that is usually down to bad media, or you burnt it too fast
maybe you also had a backgroud app doing something at the same time causing a dodgy burn
but its most likely the first two
what media do you use, and how fast do you burn and with which software?

When i have been burning my ps2 games, if i run them on PAL, the video and sound is stuttering or the game just crashes, but if i play them on NTSC, the game runs fine, but the screen is black and white. is this usual?

yeah when ive tried booting up in NTSC it is black and white but all sounds and picture size and layout is all good. but when booting in PAL its colour and thats great, but the screen is off and the stuttering of the sounds also.
i know maybe im probably asking too much but i want both colour and good sounds and picture layout!
i will order some ritek dvd+r i think and burn at 2x and see what will be the outcome. maybe this could correct it?
has anyone else got any ideas?
Cheers
steve

I think the only way to solve it is to but a NTSC to PAL converter for your tv, less hassle in the long run i think. I only got my swap magic on saturday, it's getting right on my nerves already, rebuilding, wrong media, etc. oh well, i'll keep trying till i find the right combination i guess.
