Hi guys I am new here and I was looking around to try and find something so I didnt have to bug people on the boards but I have not found what i was looking for so here I am. I was just wondering if it was possible to get .avi files onto a cd-r. I know a long time ago a friend put some music videos on a cd-r for me but I dont know how he did it. I would Like to know if there is anyway to get 25+ minute long .avi files onto a cd-r? I am guessing that I will need to convert the files to another format but I dont know what format. If anyone can help me out I would appriciate it. I would also like to know what programs I should use if this stuff can be done.

It's been awhile since I've done this, but here's what I remember. In order for me to burn AVIs onto CDR and have it viewable on a standard DVD player, I had to convert it to MPG format. I think I used TMPEnc to do this. While converting you also need to make sure the settings are correct for TV viewing. I forget what all the settings are, but I think they include things like aspect ratio, bitrate and things like that. I learned all this stuff from sites like http://www.videohelp.com, so you can look up the details you need.

Can it be done? Yes and I recommend DVD2SVCD with CCE (Cinema Craft Encoder). If you need a guide I'll post. :)
