hi just wanted to ask are the following media of very good quality as i am currently using datawrite red v3 4x and even though ihave successfully backed up

splinter cell chaos theory
midnight club 3
full spectrum warrior
NFSU2
pro evo soccer 4

they are sometimes hanging and i have made loads of coasters due to using poor media

which should i go 4

ritek g05
MCC (02RG20)

If at all possible I would go for verbatim. What program are you using to burn your backups? And what king of mod or slide card are you using? What brand of dvd have you been using the most and had the most success with?

i have only used the datawrites which have a media code of an31 i think and i was usingdvd decrypter but it wouldnt let me burn at 2x so i moved to Alcohol 120% and had more success

i use swapmagic 3.3

so verbatim discs are the best than ok ill prob get them ive heard they have a mcc code which is one of the best?

It is the 'Media Id' which is important when choosing what
media to use for ps2 backups.

Use better media.
Burn at 2x speed.

using DVD Decrypter Start > Mode ISO write do these 2 things.
1)-Right click your dvd-rw drive.
click check for firmware updates.
2)-After updating your firmware, inesrt a GOOD dvd media,
into your burner, In the box on the right says "supported write speeds" These are the speeds on which for THAT MEDIA you can burn,

I use Fujifilm 8x +r and/or Verbatim (MCC)

The following list is in preference order.

MXLRG01, MXLRG02 = Maxell = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
MCC = Mitsubishi Chemicals = (-R)<-----------------VERBATIM MY CHOICE #1
TDKG02 = TDK Corp = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
TAIYOYUDEN or YUDEN = Taiyo Yuden = (-R)<--------------FUJIFILM (made in japan) MY CHOICE #2

i have been looking on

and they have 50 verbatim discs for £18 (mcc)
and 100 datawrite titanium discs for the same price with same media code (mcc)

wouldnt it be better getting the datawrites as im getting 50 more 4 same price or shall i go for verbatims just to be safe thats if i can write to 8x discs with a 4x writer that is


also if any 1 uses the datawrite titaniums with the mcc code can u please tell me what they r like

x8 disks just means they are capable of burning at up to x8 speeds,thats all.
they will burn at slower speeds

i buy my disk's from there,and they are very good

just ordered 50 verbatims off www.blankdiscshop.com haha i bought 2 25 packs and they were cheaper than the 50 pack got some blue ps2 dvd cases off there to which are cool

its a wicked site id reccommend it to any 1
