I read from somewhere that you can use gameshark to play a burned backup PS2 game. If that is true, then what do I need and how does it work? I have GS v 2. I'll probably have to upgrade.

you have to have some way to switch discs without the ps2 knowing (slide card or fliptop). you need version 2 or under i think (newer versions don't work).
