I purchase many cheat code devices and they are all blue discs. I've heard that some people have problems like it spins too fast or the ps2 doesn't even read the disc. I have the problem that it spins too fast. I heard that someone said that it spins fast because it spins at a speed of 24x and that it's normal.

Is it true that it is normal for the disc to spin so fast? I'm getting confused and really bugged that whatever I try doesn't work. I opened it to clean the disc tray but still nothing happened. And I work as a technician.

My version of the ps2 is SCPH-5000X. Is there a problem with this version. I have used my ps2 occasionaly and bought it last year. I'm not sure there's anything wrong with the laser but I'll try cleaning it with a Q-tip. I hope it works cause I'm starting to get frustrated with all these noises in the ps2.

I quickly entered some cheats for gta vice city while it was spinning fast and pressed start to start the game. When it asked me if I wanted to start a games with cheats I pressed yes and put the gta in. It didn't do anything. It just stood their frozen. I can't think of anything else to do but to buy a new slimline ps2. But it's not really worth it. I NEED HELP!!!!!

Tried to play it alone. I mean like put the game in and press reset and wait for it to load. If the game play, the laser is fine. Also, did you use the cheats disc or just entering in cheats? I have GTA too but my PS2 is bulky and I just get the cheats off the internet and entered it everytime. Works fine. My PS2 is very old, I got it when it fist came out. It still work fine, no problem at all. Oh, I almost forgot. My grampa DVD Player did the same thing. The mottor was mess up. I have to open the top and give it a spin/spins before it start rolling again. See if the disc is scratch. Or the cheats disc doesn't work. Check on someone else PS2. And it's not worth buying a new one. If you do, wait till spring 2006 to get the new PS3. If you can't solve the prob. on your own, tried to find someone who's good w/ comp. fixing; they may be able to help.
HOPE THIS HELP ;-) LOVEYA

It works played alone. I used the cheats that were given in the cd. There are also no scratches. I had to go and exchange it for another one and still. I will try it on my friends ps2 as soon as he has time. I probably should have mentioned this earlier but dows it matter if I have mod chip in the ps2. I've been waiting for the ps3 to come out so I could buy it since a couple of months before E3.

I'm starting to get the ps2 to slow down, ahh... A Lot. The new problem is when I press start to start the game I click yes to I want cheats on. Then when it drive ejects it just freezes. I put my game in and nothing loads. It should say put in your game and press X. But it doesn't even say that. I put it in my friends and his span fast but atleast it loaded the games. I'm just gonna go buy AR Max at the price of a memory card from Future Shop. Nothing or no one can help anymore. Unless you want to. It doesn't feel right buying a new code system.
