I am having lots of problems with burning movies onto on my dvd+r. They r Verbatim dvd+r 8x. It's annoying b/c i burn the movie onto it and it doesnt play in my dvd player. When i try to play it on my laptop too it gives this message: Disk is not formatted: WIndows cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compatiable with windows and says ok. I have lost lots of discs this way. CAn somebody help me with this?

ok i have a external plextor PX-712Uf. I am using the DVD Shrink & decrypter to burn onto these dvd+r 8x vertabim. IT's weird b/c out of 5 of these dvd+r 8x vertabim only like 1 has burned successfully. I am trying to burn the movie: Selena the last concert feb 26 1995. BUt like i said b4 one did burn good but the other gave me that message of disk not formmatted. IT's very odd b/c when it is burning the movie onto the disc ( with dvd decrypter) it says successfully completed. THen when i go to play it it gives that error.. Most of the times....ALso i was wondering could i use dvd-r's to backup movies b/c i am seeing on the net there is good price for them on supermedia store?

Try slowing your burning to 2x or 4x, see if that helps. There's no reason why you could't try -Rs

When you click on write a new screen pops up, at the bottom right it says Write Speed. I think default is max, try lowering to 2 or 4x, your burning with Decrypter correct?

4x takes about 17 minutes for a full 4.3Gb burn. 4x is what most people burn movies at. The 16x Verbatim are excellent media and that is a good price but that dosen't necessarily meen you can burn faster. Burn speed is dependent on sereral factors such as amount of ram, processor speed, software, burner, media, and resources you have left after running all your other programs such as your operating system, anti-virus etc. I suggest burning at 2 or 4x till your get good results, then increase the speed
