Mark it off where it is, and turn it Counter-clockwize 2 at a time, and then try a ps1 disc, a music cd, a ps2 original game, and a dvd movie, keep doing that until all of those games work.

Yea, once you go so far, it starts again at the bottom, check to see if it reads dvd movies, and cd music first, before you do ANYTHING else

i would use rubbing alcohol, you need to try dvd's before you can come to conclusion first, so try dvd's and let me know

Yes it is the laser. Next step is to adjust the laser voltage. Search on google about that. That is what I had to do for my PS2 and it works fine. Its a simple process.

Just turn the DVD screw half a turn a time and try it. If it doesnt work, try another half a turn. If it plays CD's then you dont need to adjust the CD screw just the DVD one. Make sure your turning the right screw aswell.

Depends which way up you have your PS2. You need to refer from instructions. I think from memory, that if the PS2 is stood vertical with the screws facing you, the top one is the DVD. But refer to instructions
