I need some info about dvd duplicaters. do they need software to work. Are they more reliable then using computers, and will the copy protection on a dvd stop a duplicater. thanks

I believe they don't need software and as far as the difference between them and computer-based burning, I'd say you'll probably have more consistent output. Sometimes those background programs running on computers can cause your burning software to "hiccup" so to say, which will cause errors on the output disc. Duplicators aren't connected to your computer, so this is not an issue here. They are also more convenient.

What's up Squizzle,

If a DVD is a store bought DVD,which is CSS encrypted?...a duplicator
will bypass that?or does the DVD have to be ripped and burned, then is able to be duplicated?

Good question! I wonder if it will work. You'd obviously not be able to compress, though.
