I am new to this and i know quite abit about computers... except i am a dummy when it come to converting movies and then burning them. I know alittle bit about avi to mpeg but i was wondering aobut avi to svcd and then moving over to burn to dvd-rw PLEASE HELP ME!!! someone
1) make your files (M2V and WAV/AC3 for DVD, MPEG-2 for SVCD, MPEG-1 for VCD)
2) 'author' your files in a DVD image (DVD Lab allows you to put (S)VCD movies in a DVD Image, too)
3) burn that image in a DVD-R
Encode your avi's to SVCD in any encoder that does it.
Load the SVCD mpegs into DVDLab.
Demux when prompted.
Transcode audio when prompted.
Author, burn.
DVDLab will give you warnings about non-standard framesizes, etc, but you can usually ignore these, and the disk will play anyhow.
To be DVD compliant, you should encode to VCD aspect ratio (also known as "1/4 D1", 352x240 mpeg-2, with 48khz audio.
DVDLab will then author these with no warnings, as they're totally DVD compliant.
