I just installed my Flip top. Im having problems getting my swap magic to read. Soundslike the disk is rubbing something. Makes a noise. Spins then stops...spins then stops. What is going on? Have i installed something wrong? Please help Thanks

Check the white piece on the fliptop itself.
I use my original 'Whit piece' not the one that came with my fliptop,
Seems to work better.
I dont have to hold the lid or put anything on top.
You also may have the white piece backwards.

ok i just placed my order i can't wait im tired of the slide card and i didn't want a mod chip so i hope nothing go wrong while hooking it up

I used the white disk from my original. And I do have it in correctly. Here's whats happening. I turn on Playstation....open tray...insert Swap Magic 3.6 DVD...close...then it goes to read disk. Sounds like its jerking..or jumping. LIke its not making good contact. The lid is down tight. and if you try pushin on lid it scrapes. Then I hit the reset button with disk still in. 5 out of 10 times it will boot then. But most of time its not reading. Again its pretty noisy. But I have installed everything correclty. I mean ...Its not that much to it. Just confused...Dint know if there is something you can do to fix this or not. Please advise.

Its not normal,
At least mine does not make noises at all,
It works just as good as before I took it apart.
Are you sure the white disc is centered correctly?
Also when you put in a backup make sure it spins freely,
Before you close the flip-top.

If this is not the problem it could be your media,
using cheap media will cause almost the same problems.
A lot of noise (Laser struggling to read).
