Are u sure it is always mds? Because from my experience the mds file is always far smaller than the iso file?

You should use the mds file with dvddecrypter,the mds file tells the program the settings to burn the iso just like a .bin and .cue file.

Which of these settings in DVD Decrypter should i choose?
when i go into the settings of DVD Decrypter these are my interface options:
ASPI-WNASPI32.DLL
ASPI-ASPI.DLL
SPTI-Microsoft
ElbyCDIO-Elabourate bytes
Patin-Couffin-VSO Software

When i first got DVD Decrypter i didn't change any settings. Left them at whatever the default one's were.
Haven't had any problems yet.

I have used DVD Decrypter to read winning 11 liveware evolution and the iso image file is 2.31gb and the mds file is 5kb! Are you really sure that i should burn the mds file? Which of these two files should i burn or do i need to combine them somehow?

no you burn the .mds file
it contains info to burn the other file
doesnt matter about the size of the .mds, its the info stored in there

im not sure because ive never had to do it
but i would PRESUME the .iso, but i dont know
that would make the most logical sense

Ok so i apply the patch to the iso file with ppf-o-matic, then i open DVD Decrypter, go to mode-iso-write! then i select the 5kb mds file as the source and then i choose my dvd writer as the destination and hit the burn symbol! Is that all i have to do? Will selecting the mds file burn the patched iso aswel?

When patching you use the .iso file,
When burning you use the .mds file,
Always use the .mds file when available.
3. Go to the same tab in dvd decryptor and choose MODE>ISO>WRITE. This will then let you look for the files you just created in step 2. Select the file that you just created. (There is only 2 files created so pick the .mds) (The smaller file)Then click WRITE, make sure there is blank DVD in the drive.

You only want to burn the patched .iso, so make sure you have the patched .iso file in the same location as the .mds file. If the original .iso file is still there get rid of it.

How do i get the patched iso in the same location as the mds file? They are both in my c:/ drive at the minute right beside each other!

When in write mode of DVD Decrypter when i select the mds file as my source i get this error message:
Cannot open file: C:/DVDIMAGE.ISO
Reason: The system cannot find the file specified
how do i fix this and what is the problem here?

for phucs sake.....
just burn the iso,
it will still work,the mds file,is like said above,a feeder file for the iso,
but most of the time its not nessecary
if you are patching a game....you patch the iso
if you have FAT32 and not NTFS,you need to use the MDS route,for the reason being FAT32 cannot handle files over 4GB,so,therefore the image is split into 2 halfs,when transfered onto the hardrive,
then when you burn it,the MDS FILE will connect the 2 images together,forming 1 ISO
BTW,if you do have FAT32,and want to patch an iso.....you are screwed
if you are using NTFS,just select the ISO,as you are obviously getting stuck wih this
hopes this makes things a little clearer

Thanks hursty! do i need to combine the mds file and the iso file together into one file of do i just go into DVD Decrypter and select mode-iso-write, set the iso file(not the mds file) as the source and my dvd writer as the destination?

Yes, forget about the .mds file for this one. Move it out of the same location or folder, or delete it. Just select Mode>iso>write, select the {patched) .iso file as the source, your burner drive as the destination, and click on the burn icon on the bottom left of the window.
