Hi, I am new to afterdawn so not sure if in the right discussion group,
I had a V1.1 Xbox with an xapt3r and a xecuter 2.6 with a new 250gb HDD, well one day I decided to try to solder the chip to my xbox, all did not go well? I used a cold heat soldering iron and thought I would be able to use the solder that was already in the holes to hold the wires in place, I was wrong. When I was done the xbox wouldn?t turn on but nothing was on the screen, I tried every thing to try to fix it but came to the conclusion that I needed a new xbox. So I bought a new Xbox v1.6b and was still able to use my xecuter 2.6 modchip since I never flashed the 2nd bank. My old, new $200.00 250GB hdd was locked by my old xbox, my question is, is there any way? AT ALL to get that HDD working in my new xbox, I don?t nessarly care about the information on the HDD I just don?t want to have to buy a new one.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and any suggestions
Jason

you getting error 6 with the hd in your new xbox? the problem is, you locked it with your other motherboard...the only way you are gonna get the hd to work with your new box is to unlock it...there is a way to unlock the hd by hotswapping it and putting it in your pc.

try going to www.xbox-scene.com and look in the tutorials section, there should be a guide in there about unlocking a hd through a hotswap.

doesn't cromwell have a 'master key' for their hard drive keys? Worth looking into.

Would wiping the HDD completely out work is there a program to download or a place to take it to where the HDD is completely erased of all information, then is it possible to format it again and use it on my xbox
