Has anyone figuered out how to convert a dvd movie into an mpeg4 movie to burn onto the little disks played on the new sony playsation portable (psp)?

Converting a Dvd isn't the hard part. It's the fact that UMD media/burners are not available to the public. I'm not sure they even have burners for them, I beleive they're pressed. If you wanted to watched movies on your PSP you can copy them onto the memory stick and play from there. As it stands Sony is keeping the UMD format proprietary to reduce piracy. Not a bad little disc though, 1.8gb's. Might see something in the future, who knows.

Try this link it is a step by step buide for converting DVDs to PSP format for storing on your DUO card. Just remember you will need a large memory card... you can get a 1Gb from http://www.expansys.com for about £71.00... last time I checked anyway.

I have tried it and monsters inc for example only took up 380mb of space... potentially this means that you can get two full length movies on a 1Gb card. This will depend on the format size you convert it to... just follow the instructions you cannot go wrong!
