My friend is trying to FTP from his pc to his xbox using one Network Card and his xbox.
XBOX
IP 192.168.0.3
SUB 255.255.255.0
GATEWAY 192.168.0.3
CPU
IP 192.168.0.1
SUB 255.255.255.0
GATEWAY 192.168.0.1
Any help? Mine works fine, because I'm using ICS, I recommended it for him and he doesn't have ICS. Just tell me what the hell is going on.
the link we were using that doesn't work was ftp://xbox:xbox@192.168.0.3, works for me not for him.
What's that, OMG A POOPY!

looks like the setting for the gateway on the xbox isn't correct
change it to 192.168.0.1 and see if that fixes it.

try this (with either a crosswire cable or two cat5's and a hub/router)
PC (static IP)
IP-192.168.0.224
subnet-255.255.255.0 (default)
default gateway-192.168.0.10
XBOX (static IP)
IP-192.168.0.225
subnet-255.255.255.0
default gateway-192.168.0.10
FLASH FXP
IP-192.168.0.225
username-xbox
password-xbox
If you have two NIC's you can do this too
-Set both NIC's to DHCP (non static)
-the NIC that you are connecting to the internet with, right click it and goto advance settings and select the option to share it. Set it up so that you share this internet connection. Once you get this configured corectly, you will be able to tunnel the internet feed through the pc to the other NIC.
-set up the xbox to use DHCP (non static IP)
-connect xbox to the second NIC with either a crosswired cable or two cat5's and a hub/router.
-you might have to reboot one or both you xbox and/or pc for settings to take effect.
-to connect to your xbox, you will use the username xbox and password xbox and whatever IP is shown on your dashboard. In evox you might have to go into your settings to see the IP.
-with this connection method your xlink/kai will be able to tunnel through the pc letting you play online.
Worth a shot.

What type of ethernet cable are you using?
If you're going to hook 2 NIC cards directly up to each other you need a crossover cable. A straight through cable is only for going through a router or hub.

are you allowing your ftp program through your firewall?

Unless you use a Mac,they have NIC's that switch it for you.

Well now I have two different people with the same problem. I'm trying my own IP settings from one lan card considering I'm using ICS I don't know if it will work or not, my friend is complaining that the xbox's ip is sissapearing and the other is saying it keeps reverting to 192.168.0.3 so yea any help?
