V7 Laser Help!!!

Hi. Its been a while but recently I just fixed my PS2 by replacing the driver cable and installing a clear blue flip top. The more I got hooked back on my PS2, Ive noticed that the console reads discs without that painfull ticking noise when I stand it up. It makes that same ticking noise when it reads my backups of GTA3 and VC. When it reads THOSE games it eventually has an error (vertical or horizontal). What the hell is going on and can I please learn a laser trick that WILL help?
