you can keep running them through DVD Shrink one at a time until they get to about 1450 MB or so, giving you a total of 4350 MB and 3 films on a disc with no menu.

However I must warn you that you will be terribly disappointed with the quality.

what i did for discs that have episodes on both sides of a disc is used shink to compress both sides, then i used a program called dvdremake, you can merge both disc's with all menus!..and when it boots up the dvd it will say load disc 1 or 2? very simple

The Best way which would give you the best Quality would be to encode each Movie to Mpeg-2 at 352+480 NTSC or 352+576 PAL useing a Video bitrate of about 2000kbs with a Good Quality encoder Like TMPGEnc or better....

After encodeing all 3 Movies to Mpeg-2 at 352+480/576-PAL you Load each Movie into a DVD authoring Program Like "DVDLab Pro" and Make a Main Menu were you can Put links to each sperate Movie so when you put the DVD in your DVD Player a Menu will Pop up were you can select which Movie you want to watch.....

Useing the Half D1 352+480 resolution at 2000kbs will get you about 4.5 to 5 hours on a Single DVD with as good as SVCD or better quality......

This will produce "MUCH" better quality than if useing DVD-Shrink to Heavilly Compress 3 Movies to fit on One DVD.....

You can also use the SIF/CIF DVD Standard which uses a resolution of 352+240 NTSC or 352+288 PAL and get 6 hours of Video on a DVD with a bitrate of about 1500kbs.....

Cheers

you can use DVD Lab Pro to make a menu, although it took me a while to figure that proggy out.

Now there's a program called RatDVD that supposedly shrinks an 8GB dvd to 2GB or so, but I can't imagine that quality being very good.

Yes in DVDLab you can Make a Simple Menu that just says "Movie 1" Movie 2" and "Movie 3" or just have the Names of the Movies and then you just add a link from the Text on the Menu to the Beginning of each Movie....It isn"t very hard to do....

PS: Rat DVD Doesn"t Make DVD"s it just encodes a DVD to an AVI format with all the Menu"s and Chapters and you can Later convert the AVI Back to DVD...I tried it but it wouldn"t work on DVD"s authored with DVDLab so it Just crashed....

my method is to rip JUST the movies in DVD Shrink and also extract all the unnecessary audio and subtitles and stuff

do this for all the films then i use TMPGEnc dvd author to make a menu for the three

just make sure that when you shrink the films in shrink you allow a little bit of space on the disc for the menu

i personally shrink the films to 1.3gb each if im sticking three on there, just to be sure

experiment see what happens

in my opinion the quality wasnt poor, least not when i did it ;)

yeah but notice something: i dont rip anything. i convert from divx to dvd.. so theres nothing to rip from dvd. and by the way. in each divx i have 2 language subtitles to insert.. so its not posssible that way cuz dvdauthor will remove all the subs. best way is dvdlab!

Useing DVD-Shrink to compress 3 Movies so they fit on a Single DVD is Going to produce pretty Crappy Quality at least to my standards...

The bitrate you would have to use to Put 5 hours on a DVD useing the Full D1 Standard is Far to low to produce watchable Quality at that Resolution...Even Backing up One Single Long Movie (3 Hours) with DVD-Shrink doesn"t Produce very good Quality, Not at least with the Movies I tried which is probably the reason why I never use any of those Simple One Click backup programs.....

I used Avi2DVD to make 3 video_ts folders for each divx movie with subtitles.. in avi2dvd picked FreeEnc. Unchecked high quality and quantum blabla.. each movie was about 1.4GB, the 3rd one was 1.9 because it was Sin city long movie.. Anyway,With dvdlab pro made the menu and subs.. it was about 4.8gb, 3 movies. I used DVD Shrink to compress about 200mb, and burned the folder. The dvds are very good quality and yes they are watchable. I think it depends on how you encode them. With my method it works great, because with avi2dvd in the end, each movie is aprox. 1.4gb each

By the way, I've started using DVDLab Pro recently and I've figured out (thnx to guides) how to make animated menues in no time...

It's not complicated to use and if you only want a really simple menu, it's damn easy to do... do not be afraid...

If not, TMPG DVD Author can be of good use too

Hi I,ve been using DVDD then re-authoring in DVD Shrink and taking out just the movie. I have then shrunk the movie in Dr DivX to high quality.
Depending on the original size the out come is between 750mb and 1.4Gb. Using Nero you can burn 4-5 movies depending which ones you pick onto a 4.7Gb DVD.Burn them as ISO files.
That quality of the movie is retained and the audio.
Phillips has brought out a Dvd player that will play DivX codec.
When you try this you will be highly suprized at the quality. Little if any differance from the original.

I tried unsuccessfully to put 2 home vedio films on 1 DVD using DVD Shrink and TMPGEnc DVD Author. Both titles are short and the total time is less than 50 min so that compression is not a problem. First I used TMPGEnc DVD Author to add menu on each title then used DVD Shrink to combine two titles. The program actually treats menu as one title and I have 4 titles in the final file. The playing on a DVD player was awful as I could not switch between titles because actually no menu linking titles was available.

TMPGEnc DVD Author itself allows me to put two tiles on a singe track. However, it is not what I want. Then I tried to creat two tracks for each title and added nice menus. On outputing to DVD subfolders an error "Stream writing error" always occurred in the middle of writing on my win2k OS.

Does anyone know how to solve the problem?

The problem was that I did not have enough disk space.
The created DVD has menu on the title and two tracks with links to play, very nice. TMPGEnc DVD Author works well.

Tmpgenc DVD author isn"t a Very advanced Authoring Program so it won"t let you do anything that is Too complex...

If you want to use something that is More Versitile then Try DVDLab Pro....
