ok. i got swap magic 3.6.. ghost tool, slim pstwo, a bloodrayne 2 ISO. i know how to burn them with nero

so my questions are as such

Is nero ok to burn with.. i read about how you need to burn on slowest speed (mine burns x1 no prob) but im also hearing about this dvddecrypter program... do you use that to burn? or just make backup?

2nd i have 2 types of DVDs in stock

Maxell DVD-R and a few Verbatim DVD-R

are these DVDs good enough to use?

basicly what im asking for is all the nessesary info i will need to burn my first PS2 game.

theres loads of post on ere that will help try searching but ill giv ya a few pointers

i would use DVD Decrypter especially if your new to the backup world as it is so easy to use and i have had no probs so far, both brands of dvd u have are quite good but you should really stick with ya verbatims when burning people have mixed ways that they do it myself i burn at 2x and again have had no probs so id say burn at that speed as burning at the lowest (1x) has its probs sometimes even though people might say do it this way etc really its all trial and error as some versions of ps2 work better with some media than others thats why u get people saying that a game worked 100% and another saying that it didnt even load.

this what i think

media = verbatim dvd-r 8x
program= dvd decrypter
speed= 2x

my burner= lite-on dvdrw ldw-451s

( dont mean go and buy this burner just letting ya know this is what i use)

Not sure what Bloodrayne ISO you have. But if it is Bloodrayne 2
And you got it from an original discs then you will have some work to do before you burn it. It has garbage files that need to be removed in order for it to work.
DVD DEcrypter is a great program for games. I use it all the time even though i have Nero. Use Nero for movies mostly. It is a great program and has many features. Nero is also great when you have to rebuild an ISO. It will take you about 6 steps rather than 20 steps.
The best way to tell if you have the garbage files is to get ISO Buster, a free program that i promise you will need eventualy anyway for rebuilding an ISO. Open the ISO with that program and look at the files. If one or more of them say garbage then you will have to remove them.

instruction to help you. I think garbage files work different so on the first try just extract the files to a folder as instructed, delete the garbage file, then use Nero UDF/ISO to burn the files.
Note:
Some games have dummy files in them.(ie. guilty gear, spider-man 2). They are used to beef up the size of the image and to copy-protect the game. Burning games with the dummy files left unchanged will result in a game that does not boot (using swap magic anyway). To remedy this annoyance follow these fun steps. Make sure you create an ISO for the game on your hard drive before you start using DVD Decrypter or other burning program. Also create a empty folder on your hard drive for the new files. Also keep ISO Buster open the whole time as you will need it for the last steps.

Step 1. First create a folder on your hard drive.
Open up ISO Buster and select-> File, Open Image, and then browse for the ISO you have created on your hard drive. Next click on the first file in the list on the right side of the screen, then hold down shift and click on the last file so that all of the files are highlighted. Continue to hold shift and right click on the highlighted area and select the Extract Objects option and then choose the folder on your hard drive to save it to.

Step 2.
Create a new text file. Open it and press the space bar once, then choose save as. Browse for the files you just extracted and click on one of the garbage files so it takes the same name. Then when it asks if you want to overwrite the existing file say YES. Repeat this for each Garbage or Dummy file.

4. Now that you have replaced them all you can use either Nero or CDVDGEN or another program (ISO Buster may have this option) to take those files and create a new ISO to burn. You must drop and drag the files into the program in the same order that they are in ISO Buster (this is why you kept it open)

5.Open up Nero burning rom and create a new UDF/ISO dvd (It's the last one in the list). Drop all the game files into Nero in the same order as it is listed in Isobuster. Nero will change the order of the files graphically, however they burn in the order that you dropped them in.
6. Now just burn the new ISO.

Just make sure to use high quality media such as FUJI/TY, Verbatim, Maxell, Sony, TDK and make sure it says;"MADE IN JAPAN or SINGAPORE" - then you shouldn't have to worry much.

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.

Listen so far I've backed up atleast 20 games and I havent strayed away from DVD Decryptor or Verbatim and I also havent wasted a single DVD with this combination. So there's my 2 cents.
