I had to reinstall windows on my computer xp pro and wipe the hard drive... now when I burn dvd 5 and burned dvds it takes 6-10 mins but dvd 9 take 40-50 mins to rip... dma is on and I have no ideas

Could be a lot of things... I have to tweak a lot when I re-install my OS to get things working 'the good old way'!

Try firmware upgrades, drivers, software updates, or even OLDER versions of software and firmware upgrades. An upgrade can be sort of a downgrade sometimes...

what was the speed like before?
What programs are you using?
When you say "ripping" do you mean compressing also?

Hi squizzle,

Alright I dont know speeds but an 8gig disc would rip in about 18-22 mins. My burning times have not been affected at all. and copies of copies take like 6-8 mins to rip

I do mean rip and compress in the rip times

both CloneDVD with AnyDVD and DVD Shrink have had these problems...

maybe AnyDVD has limited your drive speed? Sounds like something is at least.
