Wanted to let people @ AD know that in the week of Aug.15 - 21st.
Costco is having a special on TDK -R or TDK +R 8X / 100 pack printable surface, Blank DVD's.
With coupon you buy a 100 pack & get a second 100 pack for free...
Coupon is in the Costco coupon book.
Hope this helps someone get a good deal on some blank media...

Hmm, I wonder what the media code is on those. I only use dvd+r's. Here's what I found and I sure wouldn't want the first.
TDK DVD+R 8x (CMC MAG.E01)
TDK DVD+R 8x (RICOHJPN R02)
Dvd-r's look ok.

im with you mort, i stand behind my trusted fuji or sony MADE IN JAPANs when i buy locally, that is just what WORKS FOR ME, i only use dvd+r format also~ having the ability to booktype has produced flawless results for me and im sure for you as well~
im not going to take a risk on these tdk, only since the possibility for me to get the crappy CMC MAGs is there...however small, the chance is STILL there~ :P
have a good one and good luck to all of you when these go on sale a few months from now~ :) ill be keeping my fingers crossed for you guys, hope u don't get the CMC MAGS`

You know I only use +r media booktyped dvd-rom but just out of curiousity is that TTH01 media code any good? I don't think I've seen it before.

while i have not used extensively the TDK own manufactured media, i have used a few, after running some tests using kprobe, i found the TDK code that you mentioned earlier to be a little lower than my TY scans (in terms of quality); while i do not recommend TDK media to others only due to the fact they might get the dreaded CMC MAG coding, i have not found any major problems with the TTH01 code you inquired about. the consistency of the scans is not as good as the TY media i have scanned, but, it's decent~ i would rank the TT coded media about on par with maxell coded media~ i will always recommend TY and Verbs over either of those 2, but, for the price, when on sale, it's above avg. for quality~ not great, but above avg. :)
as i stated, i haven't used MANY of them, so my testing is based on a VERY small number of discs that i have scanned~ what SHOULD worry buyers is the fact that they CAN very well get the CMC MAGS and those are crap~ :P
