Hi everyone, I'm using nero-6.6.0.13 & nerovision express3-3.1.0.7 on a P4. I'm trying to make a dvd from 3 mpg-svcd files & it won't let me insert the files....(got some kind of error message). Seemed like I was able to do this before I updated?? I have nerovision express2 on a slower AMD home computer & it works fine, just takes 7 hours.... thought I could finish the project faster with the p4 but no such luck

thanx in advance

Well First off you Should "NOT" use Nero to Put SVCD Files on to DVD because Nero will Have to re-encode the Files to Put them on to DVD which will totally Ruin the Quality (Nero has a Crappy assed Encoder) and it will make the Files Huge and you will only be able to Fit one movie on a DVD this way.....

The Best way to Put SVCD Files on to DVD is to use "MediaChance DVDLab Pro" because it can Put SVCD files on to DVD "Without" Re-encodeing which means you can Fit up to 3 Full SVCD Movie on a single DVD-R and without any Quality Loss at all and it can be done in a Matter of 20 Minutes as Opposed to Many hours with Nero....

I backed up my 400 Movie SVCD Collection to DVD this way and they all turned out Excelent....

Cheers

PS: There is a Guide in the Guides section on how to use DVDLab to Put Multiple SVCD"s on to a single DVD......

DVDLab is a DVD Authoring Program Not an encoder and AVI files are not What goes on to a DVD so your Files will have to be DVD Compliant before you try to use it to make a DVD....

Just useing something like "Tmpgenc" or the "MainConcept Encoder" or "Canopus Procoder Express" to encode your AVI files to a DVD Compliant Mpeg-2 file and then you can use DVDLab to author the Mpeg-2 files to DVD....

For the Sake of Quality you should Never use an all in one "Mpeg Encoder/DVD Authoring" Program because Pretty Much every DVD authoring program that comes with a Built in encoder will have a Crappy Built in encoder and in many Cases the Program will re-encode your Files even if they are allready 100% DVD Compliant which Just destroys the quality and wastes a Lot of Time....

I find it best to use the Very Best Possible Software to every step in the Process this way you get absolute controll over the Quality of the Video and the Structure of the DVD, were if you use an all in one Program you are Stuck useing it"s Built in Tools to do everything and most "all in One" Programs Don"t do any One Thing very well.......
