I tried to burn the games: FIFA2005, TimeSplitters Future Perfect, Midnight Club3 with:
- Dvd Decrypter (creating an ISO File)
- Nero (burning this ISO File onto a DVD- from Verbatim)

.. but it did not work at all :(

Do I necessarily need to find a PATCH for these games?
Can I make a patch out of the ISO File I have created with Decrypter?

i copied midnight club 3 without using a patch. Go to swapmagicfix.com to find out about all games and if they need patches or not, it also tells you where to find and download the patches

Sig removed. Read the forum rules.

i saw in another thread you said you have a mod-chip?
What mod-chip and who installed it?
Does it play ANY backups?
Does it play originals?

We simply need more information.
I dont know why your using nero for the burn.
I would use dvd decrypter the whole way,

1. Take the ps2 game put it in the dvd rom or dvd burner, your choice.

2. open the dvd decryptor program then go to to tool bar and hit MODE>ISO>READ. Then choose the correct dvd drive that the game is in as the "source". Also choose where you want the files to be stored on the pc hdd. THEN CLICK DECRYPT , or the huge graphical picture at the bottom of the program which makes it run. The game is now copying to your HDD. Take the game out when finished (it might take a while).

3. Go to the same tab in dvd decryptor and choose MODE>ISO>WRITE. This will then let you look for the files you just created in step 2. Select the file that you just created. (There is only 2 files creadted so pick the .mds) (The smaller file)Then click WRITE, make sure there is blank DVD in the drive.

Possunt Quia Posse Videntur.

THANKS A LOT (!) for all your comments.
I made it work :) and very easy it was, indeed.

I've posted the guide also in some other thread, here it is again for everybody.

In my case, it worked with DVD Decrypter.
In two steps: creating the image and then burning the image
For the blank DVD better use a brand DVD (TDK worked for me, ..)

TO CREATE IMAGE:

1 Open DVD Decrypter
2 Insert Original Game in Drive
3 Choose this drive as "Source" drive
4 Then choose your harddisc where the image should be saved
5 Go to Mode --> ISO --> Read
6 and finally, click the pic in the middle showing a DVD and a harddisc
´
wait for Decrypter to create image

TO BURN ON BLANK DVD:

1 When the image creation is finished,
2 take the original game DVD out
3 insert the blank DVD in the burner drive
4 Go to Mode --> ISO --> Write
5 now the burning window opens:
- Source: choose the harddisc where the image is burned: but be sure to choose the ".MDS" file (Dvd Decrypter makes two image files, one is ISO and one is MDS - be sure to choose the .MDS one here, you have to make "all files" visible to be able to see the .MDS file)
- Speed: better use a not-so-fast speed, in my case 2x worked fine
- if you want to be 100% certain before using a blank DVD, you can test the burning process by clicking "Test Mode" (this will 'simulate' burning, but not really burn)
- if you do not want to test, be sure that "Test Mode" is not clicked
6 finally, click on the harddisc - DVD pic to start the burning process
