Playback prohibited disc out of area - ERROR

Does anyone else get this error? I have converted some of my xvid files using VSO divx to avi converter tool, its a great tool.. but my dvd player (sony) cannont playback these files. Is it a Pal/NTSC error of a kind, anyone know how to fix these please?
